This is not to be a web page. It is my initial thoughts on what should be
included in the database form.
Pen Gallery Database
Notes
- I would like to be able to add new items that are found in the above drop
down menus. (Artist, Style, Type, Finish, Wood / Material)
- I would like the search results page to have the ability to be populated
based on most of these fields.
- The search page should have four price ranges to choose from. (< $25,
$25 - $50, $50 - $75, > $75) Maybe we should consider the ability to
modify these ranges in the future.
- I want a page that will list the pens by Date Added field. (Newest pens
first) This may be best as an option on the search page. I will describe my
ideas on the search page later. (gallery.asp)
- The Pen Gallery pages (currently pgpage_1(2,3).htm) will be populated from
the pens with Gallery values of Page 1(2,3). I am interested in the sort
order of this page such that it is fair to each artist. They will all have
one pen on each of the three pages. Can we make the sort order random?
- The Elite Collection page should be populated by pens with the Elite
checkbox checked.
- The Artist pages will have all of their pens listed after their
biographical information. See jlambert.htm for an example. The SOLD sign
should appear if the Sold checkbox is checked. Clicking on the thumbnail or
More Information and Ordering link should take the visitor to the applicable
pen page. See pgjl02.htm for an example of a sold pen. The SOLD sign should
show up if Sold is checked in the database. See pgjl03.htm for an example of
a pen that is not sold. Can the shopping cart buttons appear only if the pen
is not sold?
- On the pen page, the Information data comes from the Description field in
the database.
